Brooklyn Nets, Steiner Sports & Blue Rock Energy Support CHiPS

Brook Lopez, center for the Brooklyn Nets, the folks from Steiner Sports and Blue Rock Energy made a visit to the CHiPS soup kitchen to hand out pizza donated by Papa John’s, bags of chips donated by Brooklyn Baked, and Mitchell & Ness gift bags of Brooklyn Nets apparel items including sweatpants, jerseys, and winter hats.

Brook Lopez Helps the Homeless & Hungry There’s no need for people to go hungry in this world, but unfortunately some do. Brook Lopez and I went on a mission to change that for CHiPS Soup Kitchen & Women’s Shelter in my hometown of Brooklyn.

Steiner Sports surprised staff with the generous donation of six brand new Mac desktop computers to the CHiPS offices, which were desperately needed to replace outdated and barely functioning computers, as well as tickets to an upcoming Nets game. Blue Rock Energy also surprised staff with a donation of $5,000 to help purchase additional much-needed office equipment and furniture. The Nets donated several framed photos and memorabilia, signed by Mr. Lopez, which are now on display in our soup kitchen.

We are so grateful to Mr. Lopez, the Brooklyn Nets, Steiner Sports, and Blue Rock Energy for their generous support of CHiPS. It was an incredible day that brought a smile to so many of our guests and staff members’ faces. You can check out coverage of the event on an upcoming episode of Steiner Sports’s show “The Hook-Up,” sponsored by Blue Rock Energy, on the YES Network later this month. Stay tuned for air times!
