WE ARE ALWAYS IN NEED OF COMMUNITY VOLUNTEERS TO SUPPORT OUR KITCHEN AND FOOD PANTRY THROUGH OFF-SITE PROJECTS:
Although our on-site volunteer opportunities are only available to those who are 16+ years old we have other opportunities for youth and families to support our work. Our youth focused opportunities are outlined below, split up into off-site and on-site support. All of the one pagers shared below are compiled in this Getting Involved at CHiPS Guide along with more information on our work and how you can support us.
Youth friendly opportunities to get involved with CHiPS off-site are outlined here. Check out these one-pagers with more details about each project :
- Sandwich-Making Project (and this Detailed Guide to Sandwich-Making)
- Snack-Making Project
- To-Go Flatware Collection Project
- Toiletry Kit Assembly Project
- Kid’s Bag Making Project
- Brown Bag Meal Making Project
- Food Drives
Of course, if you have any other ideas of ways to support CHiPS, we’re happy to hear from you.
We often have young people support our programs on-site by preparing treats or snacks at home, and then coming to CHiPS to distribute them during our lunch service. We can provide tables for you to set up outside and engage with the guests while you distribute your items.
Please check out our Outdoor Distribution Scheduling Page to see our most up-to-date availability and hours.
We appreciate advance notice of any donations, please schedule a time in our donation drop-off calendar. If none of the listed times work for you, please email volunteer@chipsonline.org.
The Service Collective is a neighborhood youth volunteer organization that organizes service projects for Brooklyn kids, teens, and families, including opportunities to support our work at CHiPS!
