Volunteer at CHiPS and Help Us Feed Hungry New Yorkers!
We are always in need of Dedicated Groups of Volunteers to support our programs; opportunities are available in our Kitchen and Food Pantry.
Group Volunteering at CHiPS
CHiPS hosts group volunteers from a wide range of organizations—including companies, schools, community groups, and religious congregations. Whether you’re building team spirit or giving back with neighbors, we welcome your group’s energy and support.
We offer meaningful, hands-on volunteer opportunities for groups of up to 10 people during a single shift from 10:00 AM–2:00 PM, Tuesday through Friday. Community groups may also be eligible for limited Saturday shifts.
During your shift, your group will support CHiPS’ core programs—prepping, packing, and serving meals as part of our community meals program. On Thursdays and Saturdays only, volunteers may also help with our community pantry program, organizing shelves, packing bags, and distributing groceries (including fresh vegetables) to neighbors facing food insecurity. Meals are served through a to-go window, and pantry distributions take place outdoors. Volunteers are essential to keeping these services running. All groups receive on-site orientation and staff support.
