Volunteer at CHiPS and Help Us Feed Hungry New Yorkers!

We are always in need of Dedicated Groups of Volunteers to support our programs; opportunities are available in our Kitchen and Food Pantry.

CHiPS Soup Kitchen hosts groups from many different types of organizations, including community groups, religious congregations, and private companies. Volunteer groups support CHiPS preparing and packing food, and setting up and distributing breakfast and lunch meals to our guests. A volunteer event at CHiPS is a wonderful activity for a service day or a team-building event!

CHiPS schedules group volunteering on a first-come, first-served basis and requires booking in advance. Dates are typically available about five weeks out. Currently, openings are available from April 21st through June 30th

Scheduling: Please visit our Group Volunteer Scheduling Page to see the calendar of availability.

Group Size: We can host Groups of Volunteers of up 15 people for corporate groups (10 for community groups) There is no group size minimum.

Shift Length: This shift is 4 hours long and is from 10:00AM – 2PM.

We ask that corporate groups make a suggested donation of $3,000 to support CHiPS programming. We are serving over 600+ meals per day. This donation directly goes back into our soup kitchen and pantry services used to purchase food and needed supplies. We truly appreciate your group taking the time to work directly with guests and those who are food insecure.
